Sophie Auger (b. 1994, Québec) is an artist and designer in New York. She is a lecturer
at Rutgers University and has previously taught at Parsons School of
Design, the University of Pennsylvania, the School of Visual Arts, and
Index Space. She has lectured and served as a critic at Columbia GSAPP,
Bard College, Pratt Institute, and Drew University. In 2024, she served
as the Design Director of The Brooklyn Rail, and in 2023, she interned at
2x4. She has worked as a designer on visual identities and editorial projects with artists.
Sophie's work is research-based, collaborative, and experimental. She works in photography, video, sculpture and web and printed publications.
She has worked with experts and amateurs to hack physical machines, create DAO communities and perform occult rituals. Her work was been shown at ELEKTRA in Montreal, Index Space in New York, Vox Populi in Philadelphia and MUU Contemporary Art Center in Helsinki.
